You can start a GEA Chapter at your university either as an individual or through one of your university's existing organizations or clubs. At the GEA Project we work in teams, so you will need a total of at least three founding members. As a Chapter, you will embrace the GEA Project's mission and recruit outstanding student leaders on your campus, lead your specific Project's fundraising efforts, and communicate with the Global Leadership Team to plan your workshop and travel logistics.

To start a GEA Chapter you and your founding members must:

  1. Be enrolled in a college or university economics program;

  2. Have a strong academic performance record in your economics classes;

  3. Be involved in leadership groups or student organizations;

  4. Provide a list of your founding members and their respective titles, including a Chapter Head, a Vice President of Operations, and a Vice President of Marketing;

  5. Be willing to commit to your Chapter a minimum of five hours a week;

  6. Acknowledge and sign the GEA Project's Chapter statement of duties and responsibilities;

  7. Apply via email to providing supporting documents such as resume and transcript for all founding members and one cover letter prepared on behalf of all founding members describing why you want to become part of the GEA Project and what steps you will take to make GEA succeed on your campus. We are currently accepting applications on a rolling basis;

  8. Be motivated to lead, empower, travel, and have fun!
